Because every evaluation and consultation is tailored to the specific needs of the individual or department, pricing can vary. Factors like the type of assessment, the level of complexity, and any required documentation or coordination all influence the final cost. If you're interested in learning more, I encourage you to reach out directly. I’m happy to provide a personalized estimate once I understand what services you’re looking for.
I work indirectly with insurance by offering a Superbill if you would like to utilize your insurance. Each month, I will provide you with a Superbill statement that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement via your out-of-network benefits. You are responsible for paying the full fee to me at the end of every session. Please contact your insurance company to verify possible reimbursement with an out-of-network provider.
It is worth noting that involving insurance might mean an external party has a say in your treatment duration and type. In many cases, insurance requires a mental health diagnosis for reimbursement, which becomes a part of your medical records. Opting to work without insurance offers more privacy and grants you more control over your mental health treatment decisions.
What is revealed by you is protected by legal, ethical, and professional standards. All material is confidential and not released without your written consent. Exceptions to this include a court order, information related to suspected child or elderly abuse, serious intent to harm oneself or another, or occupational evaluations (e.g., pre-employment screenings, fitness for duty evaluations).
Unlike when you pay out of pocket for sessions, if you decide to use your insurance, they will need a diagnosis to validate that the treatment is medically necessary and to justify reimbursement when using a Superbill. When choosing to pay out of pocket, diagnostic information, session notes, and treatment plans are confidential.
All sessions must be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours notice. Given the unpredictable nature of frontline work, I will allow up to two last-minute cancellations within a six month period for work-related emergencies without penalty. Any additional late cancellations and no-shows will be charged a cancellation fee equivalent to the session fee.
Once you're scheduled, you’ll receive an email invitation to your secure client portal through Carepatron. This is where you can complete intake forms, sign documents, view appointment details, send secure messages, and join telehealth sessions. The portal is HIPAA-compliant and designed to protect your privacy.
If you're an existing client, please use the portal whenever possible to send messages or documents instead of regular email. It helps keep your health information secure and ensures I can respond in a timely and organized way. If you lose your portal link, just let me know and I’ll be happy to resend it.
